December 4, 2007 – 11:16 am

The World Cup is an amazing example of athletic ability, international competition, and crowd pleasing fun. This event brings together people from all over the world to enjoy the game of football. It is one of the most crowd rousing events in history. The stands are filled to capacity with people who love the sport and see this event as more important than the American Super Bowl. And televisions all over are tuned in to watch the skills and thrills that are sure to be found.

In 1930 there was a historic event, the first World Cup. And so the World Cup football history began. That first World Cup in 1930 started a history of having this event every four years for football players to compete and football fans to enjoy. In the World Cup football history there are two times the cup was not held, this was 1942 and 1946 due to World War II. But with these two exceptions, this event has continued to gain fans and build momentum as the years have gone by. And even though this event has had eighteen events, only seven countries have seen World Cup victory.

As the 2006 World Cup came to an end there were already people preparing to start competing in the 2010 World Cup. The World Cup 2010 is due to take place in South Africa and is the first time the event will ever take place in this location. The elimination and competition of teams has already started and is well on it’s way to the final teams that will eventually compete. Italy won the 2006 World Cup but is in no way a shoe in for the World Cup 2010. The list on countries competing is long and the talent is amazing as ever. We are sure to see some of the best athletic talent ever seen at a World Cup.
